There's Always Time for God! Human Averages- Time spent sleeping: 7 hours of sleep a night by the time you are 75 years old you would have slept for about 22 years. Time spent watching TV: for a 65 year old 9 years watching TV Time spent at a stop light: 6 months Time spent working out or sports: around 2 years for a fairly active person. TIme spent shopping: women 2 years men 1 year. Time spent getting ready: men 6 months, women 2 years. Time spent eating: about 4 years each Time spent on the phone: men 4 years, women 5 1/2 years Time spent working: men 10 years, women 8 years Time spent making love: 6 months How can we fit more God in our busy lives? From the stats that I just gave you there must be more time that we could spend with our Father. Here are a few things that we could do to spend more time with God: • Pray more 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (New International Version) 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. o Say little prayers through out your day o Pray as a family o Men take the lead and be that Prayer Warrior that your family needs o Wives if you husband won't do this, you take the lead because prayer is important to a family • Quiet times o 15 minutes a day o Just you, your Lord, and your Bible o Journal o Begin with a prayer and end with a prayer o Anyone have a daily quiet time? • Daily Devotionals o Charles Swindoll Devotionals o Daily Devotionals link on our website (Bill Graham's Devotionals) o Daily Bread Calendars o Devotional emails (AirOne) o Can anyone think of others? • Incorporate God o Bible on CD o Christian Music o Christian Books o Christian Conversations o Christian Entertainment (Which has gotten some better) ;) o Go to church and church sponsored activities • Accountability o Get in an accountability group o Men's Impact (Wed. Evenings 6:30 ROC and Fri. Mornings 6:00 our room) I know I didn't cover everything that you could do to get more God in your life, but I do hope that I gave you some more alternatives to making more time for God. So the next time you are sitting at that stop light say a prayer, or turn the radio over to some christian music, or call up a Christian friend just to say "hey". Whatever you do be sure you are putting more God in to your life!
