October 4 Power of Bible Study in a marriage Key verse: “Let the wise listen and add to their learning” (Proverbs 1:5) Q: Why should I study God’s word? A: The Bible is God’s Answer Book for life. Can anyone give examples of when they or someone they loved needed help and turned to the bible and “miraculously” found the guidance they needed? (Barb can tell recently about being led back to bible study). Q: Do I just open the bible anywhere and see what it says? A: That sometimes works. Seems to work the more you read the bible. That being said, daily or regular reading the bible seems to work better for me. Q: I don’t like to read. Any other ways I can get HIS message? A: Yes, you can listen to Dr. Dobson (for example), search on the internet, attend service each Sunday and Wednesday, join accountability groups, or attend a bible study. (Good time to talk specifically about BSF and how it works) Start with opening music, then to class etc and finish with lecture). Q: How does this help a marriage? A: Amazing how the Holy Spirit will lead our marriages when one and better both are listening. Harmony in the marriage, trust in decisions, a feeling of we are going into a direction together. With God behind us, we can tackle anything. One other benefit: Studying the bible is important as it will give you the confidence to stand up for your faith and help others today and later in life.
